Level Measurement with Radar-detection and Ranging in Urea Plants
The RADAR level measurement system for application in urea plants was jointly developed by STAMICARBON B.V. and VEGA.
The RADAR level measurement system measures liquid levels through measuring the time difference between sending to and return from the surface of the medium of a microwave signal. The system can be used for level measurements in high-pressure reactors, high-pressure strippers and pool reactors. To avoid corrosion problems and secure a safe performance the application of Safurex® material of certain critical parts is required.
The system is distinguished by high performance and low maintenance, making it popular among anincreasing number of urea plant operators all over the world. It is also widely used to replace existing Radioactive Measurement Systems in existing urea plants, in order to avoid prevent injury of operating personnel.
